Big change to WWE's creative team

According to Dave Meltzer, Brian Gewirtz has been removed as the head writer of RAW after having the job for more than ten years. Gewirtz is still under contract as a consultant.

Vince McMahon is said to be in a bad mood backstage at RAW. "I want results or I want resignations" was a quote from McMahon provided to Meltzer.

Froom what we are being told, his removal is due to the extremely low rating last monday and the low ratings off the previous RAW episodes.

Jericho Says He Won’t Be at WrestleMania, Layla’s Knee, Birthdays

- Former WWE Champion Bruno Sammartino turns 77 years old today while former WWE star Barry Darsow turns 53 and Afa Jr. turns 28. TNA President Dixie Carter turns 48 today.

- Several fans noted that Layla is no longer wearing her knee brace. It was reported months ago that WWE brought Layla back from injury early and that she was still suffering from problems with her knee. It appears all is well now.

- A fan wrote to Chris Jericho on Twitter and said he hopes to see the former WWE Champion at WrestleMania 29 next year. Jericho replied:

“Sorry won’t be there. But have fun!!”

NXT Stars Work WWE Live Event, Veteran Accused of Fraud

- Former WWE star Shelton Benjamin tells AlwaysAList.com that wrestling legend The Barbarian is falsely promoting a wrestling tour of Nigeria this December. Barbarian’s flyer is advertising Benjamin, MVP, Carlito, John Morrison, Matt Hardy, Val Venis, Bobby Lashley, Finlay, Chavo Guerrero and others for the tour. Benjamin says none of the former WWE stars are involved with the tour.

Benjamin previously blasted The Barbarian for shady business practices after a 2011 tour in Africa where he stiffed them on pay. Benjamin is calling Barbarian a liar, a thief and is warning people about doing business with him.

MVP, Hardy and Val Venis have all backed up Shelton’s claims about the upcoming tour. MVP called The Barbarian a scumbag on his Twitter.

- WWE NXT star Xavier Woods worked last night’s WWE live event in Everett, Washington. He lost to Tensai in a three minute match. Woods reportedly received a positive reaction from the crowd.

- Dean Ambrose also worked last night’s live event in Everett. He lost to Santino Marella and the Cobra. Ambrose cut a heel promo before the match and talked about how WWE is afraid to put him on their TV shows.

More on Vince’s Return to RAW, News on WWE’s Foley DVD

- We noted earlier this year that WWE will release a new DVD for Mick Foley on April 16th, 2013. Foley revealed that he was able to ask for many Superstars, past and present, to appear on the DVD. Foley commented:

“Just wrapped up two days of interviews for my DVD. Lots of cool extras, rare matches. Maybe some added commentary with me and @JoeyStyles?”

- As noted before, Vince McMahon will be appearing on Monday’s RAW to deliver a State of WWE Address. Vince’s appearance is a direct response to last week’s very low RAW rating. The plan is for Vince to kick off RAW at 8pm EST but that may change.
