Report: WWE & Sting have officially entered negotiations.

PWInsider.com is reporting that former WCW and TNA Champion Sting and WWE have officially "entered negotiations."

The website notes that one of their close sources has claimed that negotiations have just begun and, one way or another, should be completed "within the next several weeks." Further reports from the website state that people they have spoken with believe that if Sting and WWE were to come to terms on some kind of deal, he would not be included on the card of this year's WrestleMania pay-per-view event, although that was not 100%. PWInsider.com also suggests that Sting "would be a great signing if for no other reason than to be the WCW representation in the company" in regards to the impending launch of the WWE Network, which as we know by now will feature past WCW programming as part of their 24/7 streaming service.

As many of you may know, WWE has come close to signing Sting on a few occasions in the past, but were unsuccessful. PWInsider.com further states that Sting himself has also stated in previous interviews with them that one of the main reasons he decided not to sign with WWE in the past was because of the promotion's product at the times in which WWE approached him, which he felt was a lot more racier than he himself was personally comfortable with due to his Christian faith.

Earlier today, a report surfaced from Rob Feinstein stating that he had been informed that Sting had actually already signed a deal with WWE within the last 24 hours; however, no other source has officially confirmed this news, so we must stress that at this point in time, that particular statement is being considered as nothing more than a rumor and not official.

We will continue to stay on top of this developing story and post more information as it is made available.
